“Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten”, Lilo (in Lilo and Stitch 2002).
October 2004, 8 months after moving to Melbourne, I walked past a pet shop and fell in love with this lil’ grey kitty instantly. There and then, I knew that she would be “Ohana”, my family here in Australia. My time here in Melbourne has been a real journey. There were times of intense sorrow and heart-wrenching pain, yet also moments echoed deep with real laughter and pure joy. Ohana’s cute lil’ face and soft purrs have seen me through it all. She is such a beautiful cat, and I thank God for her!
Oh by the way, Lilo and Stitch is my absolute favourite animated movie! I love it!!! If you haven’t seen it, go watch it!!! :p
